Kapoor’s use of bold and vibrant colours are a unique feature to the theme of the soft and dreamy world of magical realism. With 30 paintings on display, Kapoor is representing positive reflections on nature, women and life. For example, one of the paintings titled, On Cloud Nine, depicts woman in an elevated and a surreal state of mind, while another painting, Moon River, represents a woman in total harmony with mother nature. Another interesting work 'Point of View' symbolises people’s different perceptions and takes on life. The painting has faces looking in different directions driving the ‘there is two sides to every story’ point home. The Fantastist however, which is a collection of six paintings, have people in different positions of Yoga which, as the artist suggests, represents the search for the right balance in life and with every person having a different trait, every one of them is a ‘fantasist’.
Kapoor has been painting since she was a child but it was only five years back she decided to pursue her career in this art. The current exhibition is a culmination of a lot of ideas and styles giving birth to a common element of optimism. “My works include depictions of the female form and elements of nature. The collection comprises of a synergy of various smaller experimental series which come together to form bloom.”
