Animal rights activists and residents’ welfare associations (RWAs) in the city have suggested registration of pet dogs in order to control the rising population of stray dogs in the city. Sanjay Mohapatra, owner of House of Stray Animals, said the RWAs have accepted the idea in principle.

Over 300 prosecuted in three months for illegally using beacons in the city
According to records of the city police, more than 300 people were prosecuted in the last three months for illegally installing VIP hooters in their vehicles, and about 30 people were prosecuted for illegally using beacons.
