Mahira homebuyers stage protest in Jantar Mantar against delay in delivery

Mahira Homes flat buyers held a protest in Delhi against the developer's failure to deliver homes on time. Delivery was scheduled for August 2022, but work has been stopped for a year. Despite assurances from authorities and the developer, there has been no progress. Around 1,500 buyers have invested in the project, which was launched in 2018. The project was cancelled due to discrepancies in documents submitted by the developer. The decision was later revoked in September, and the developer was asked to complete the project within six months. The project is expected to be delivered by the end of the year.

High court orders arrest of HSVP estate officer

The matter pertains to cancellation of allotment of a plot to an allottee in Sector 38 in 2013. The court order on Monday observed that after HSVP cancelled the allotment, it was challenged in 2013 itself and the court had given a verdict in favour of the allottee

Chintels: Occupants of towers E, F told to vacate flats at the earliest

The department of town and country planning has asked residents of towers E and F of Chintels Paradiso condominium to vacate their flats as they are deemed unsafe for habitation by structural audit experts from IIT-Delhi. The district administration previously invoked Section 144 and sections of Disaster Management Act, 2005, to direct occupants to vacate the flats within 15 days. Around 16 families are currently living in the towers and have requested 120 more days to vacate. The developer has offered buyback or a new flat in lieu of the unsafe flats, but residents will have to wait three to four years for the new home.

DTCP asks Chintels flat owners to get evaluation done within a week

Owners of flats in towers E and F of Chintels Paradiso condominium in Sector 109, India, have been given two weeks to evaluate their interiors. Of the 116 flat owners, 96 have already had their flats evaluated and the evaluating firms have been asked to submit their report within two weeks. The buildings have been declared unsafe for habitation and the district administration has recommended they be demolished. Chintels India has offered to buy back flats at a basic rate of INR6,500 ($87) per sq ft or to reconstruct them at a cost of INR1,000 per sq ft.

HSVP to auction 60 acres of land on May 28

Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) will auction plots in 17 sectors across Gurugram on May 28 which is expected to generate revenue of INR250-300cr. The auction will cover 28 sites located in different sectors and is intended for group housing projects. The authority has removed some sites from the auction after objections were raised that around four sites were located in an area marked as ?gair mumkin nullah?. The HSVP has also initiated a large-scale demolition drive to retrieve HSVP land from encroachers.

Flood preparedness drills to be held at 14 underpasses in the city

Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority will conduct drills at all 14 underpasses in the city to prepare for the monsoon season and prevent water-logging. The drills will test drainage systems and pumps at each underpass, and will be held with officials from the National Highways Authority of India, public works department and DLF. Last year, the underpasses remained largely unaffected during the rains following steps taken by civic authorities. The drills will be held from 29 May to 4 June, with traffic continuing to ply as normal through the underpasses.

Haryana approves Delhi-Behrore, Delhi-Panipat RRTS corridors

Ramprastha City residents protest against developer for water shortage

Residents of Ramprastha City in Sector 37D held a protest against the developer for inadequate supply of water. They alleged that recycled water supplied by sewage treatment plants was of poor quality and almost unusable. The developer had taken only a single water connection, which was inadequate to serve the residents, and the water supply has been dwindling since the beginning of March. The developer is supplying only 200,000 litres per day, while 1 million litres of water is required.
