Air Dining: Lofty culinary adventure becomes Punjab’s latest getaway

Ludhiana has become the seventh city in India to offer air dining at a height of over 30 meters. A hosiery manufacturer introduced the concept, which includes a deck and 22 chairs lifted by a crane. The 50-minute experience offers a bird's eye view of the city and nearby canal, with a buffet dinner served by waiters. The deck slowly rotates five times for a 360-degree view. Prices range from INR1,000 to INR2,500 ($14 to $35) per ride, and the restaurant operates on weekends with bookings required in advance. Pregnant women and children under four feet tall are not allowed.

11 dead in Ludhiana gas leak tragedy, 4 fall ill; area sealed

Eleven people, including three children, died after a gas leak in a densely populated area in Punjab's Ludhiana. Four other people are in critical condition. An NDRF team detected high levels of hydrogen sulphide in the area. Preliminary investigations suggest sudden dumping of some chemical from an industrial unit into the civic sewage line set off a reaction. A magisterial inquiry has been ordered into the incident, and a case under section 304 has been registered against unidentified persons. The area has been sealed, and all residents have been evacuated.
