A 59-year-old builder in Mumbai has been denied anticipatory bail after allegedly cheating a mother-daughter duo by selling them flats he couldn't provide. Nigerian convicted for pelting stones at NCB team

Nawab Malik walks out of hospital after court grants cash bail

NCP leader Nawab Malik has been released on cash bail from CritiCare Hospital, where he was being treated for kidney-related ailments. He was arrested by the ED in connection with a money laundering case. The court has set conditions for his release, including surrendering his passport and refraining from speaking to the media about the case. The ED has accused Malik of indirectly funding the activities of gangster Dawood Ibrahim's gang.

NIA obtains warrant to arrest Aakif Nachan in Al-Sufa module case

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) obtained a production warrant to arrest Aakif Ateeque Nachan in connection with the Pune-based Al-Sufa module. Nachan was previously arrested in connection with a suspected ISIS module and is accused of promoting terrorist activities. Tempo driver sent to 4 yrs in jail for sexually harassing minor girl

A 37-year-old tempo driver has been sentenced to five years in jail for sexually harassing a five-year-old girl in Mumbai. The incident occurred in February 2021 when the girl went to a local shop to buy chocolate. The accused man promised to buy her chocolate, but instead took her to his tempo, undressed her, and frightened her. The girl later told her mother, and the accused was confronted and reported to the police. The accused claimed he was falsely implicated, but the court rejected his defense.

Court dismisses US bizman’s plea to book Himesh Reshamiya, his father

Additional sessions judge AZ Khan said the US national, Vijay Taneja, 61, found out about the alleged fraud in 2008, but he approached the police only in May 2018 and again did not do anything for three more years after the police refused to take cognisance of his complaint

Reshamiya, on the other hand, claimed that Taneja had received from them an amount of <span class='webrupee'>₹</span>2.27 crore towards a full and final settlement of the agreement and by an email in August 2015 agreed not to stake any claim against him, but still, he filed a proceeding before a US court and also the plea before the Andheri court. Covid centres irregularities: Sujit Patkar’s pre-arrest bail plea rejected

Currently, Patkar is in judicial custody for alleged money laundering in connection to the irregularities in obtaining the contract of Jumbo Covid Centres. Before his arrest by ED, Patkar had approached the sessions court for anticipatory bail, which was rejected on Friday

New illnesses being introduced to increase Dheeraj Wadhawan’s hospital stay: Court

A special CBI court has accused doctors of introducing new illnesses to extend the hospital stay of DHFL promoter Dheeraj Wadhawan, who is accused in the DHFL-Yes Bank loan fraud case. The court also noted that Wadhawan's family attempted to sneak a mobile phone into his hospital room. The CBI alleges that Yes Bank invested INR 4,727 crore ($633 million) in DHFL bonds in return for a kickback to then CEO Rana Kapoor.

Two Dongri men get 20 years in jail for raping minor girl

Dr Adnanali Sarkar, arrested in the ISIS module case, was produced before a special NIA court where the NIA sought his custody. The NIA claimed that Sarkar was related to Zulfikar Ali Barodawala, whose role had surfaced during Sarkar's probe.
