Abu Jundal and six others get life sentence in the Aurangabad arms haul case

A special Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) court on Tuesday sentenced Indian Mujahideen and Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist Zabiuddin Ansari alias Abu Jundal and six others to life imprisonment for their involvement in the 2006 Aurangabad Arms Haul case.

On Saturday, after special public prosecutor Vaibhav Baghade and advocate Abhijit Mantri sought the maximum punishment for all convicts, the court said it will adjourn the pronouncement of the sentences till Tuesday, as it has to go through the voluminous records presented by both sides.(HT File Photo)

Abu Jundal, 11 others convicted in Aurangabad arms haul case

A session court on Thursday convicted 12 accused including Sayed Zabiuddin Ansari alias Abu Jundal and acquitted eight others in the 2006 Aurangabad arms haul case. The accused were convicted under the IPC and UAPA. One accused was given pardon.
