Defence lawyers say they plan to go to high court

Defence advocates of those convicted in the July 11, 2006 blasts have expressed shock at the verdict and are now working on the arguments over the quantum of punishment. Once the detailed order is delivered, they plan to move the Bombay high court, they said.

2006 Mumbai train blasts: 12 convicted, sentencing on Monday

A special MCOCA court on Friday convicted 12 of the 13 accused for their role in the 2006 Mumbai train blasts. Seven RDX bombs had ripped through the first class coaches of Mumbai's suburban trains on July 11, 2006, killing 188 people and injuring 829. The blast occurred between Khar Road-Santacruz, Bandra-Khar Road, Jogeshwari-Mahim Junction, Mira Road-Bhayander, Matunga- Mahim Junction and Borivali.
