School heads clueless about mid-day meal cooking being shifted to schools

Even though Prabhcharan Singh, general manager of mid-day meal (MDM), directed the MDM incharge and district education officer (DEO) that food would now be cooked at respective government schools instead of the centralised kitchen from July 1, the direction has not been percolated down to government schools in the city.

Services of 29 govt schoolteachers terminated

The services of 29 teachers of government schools were terminated on Monday for remaining absent from school for long. Director general school education (DGSE) Kahan Singh Pannu said their services had been terminated keeping in view that their unauthorised absence had resulted in loss of studies to students and affected the teaching-learning atmosphere in the schools where they were posted.
