Keeping in view the prevailing weather conditions, several private schools in the city have started their winter break from January 1, but the winter break in government schools is already over and there will be no extension in it.

Private schools delay winter vacations
In view of late winters this year, several private schools in the city have decided to postpone the winter vacations to December 31 onwards. Earlier, most private schools used to close schools for vacations after December 20.

Need to strengthen RTE, says Pranab
There is a need to strengthen the Right to Education Act and Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan only then we will be able to achieve milestone in the education sector. 3 school teachers found drunk, suspended
Two teachers and one lab attendant of government schools of Punjab who were recently found boozing on duty were suspended on Friday. Jagdeep Singh, physics lecturer from Ludhiana district, was found drunken during duty hours.
