New Haryana DGP: UPSC to shortlist three IPS officers on August 10

The UPSC communique to the Haryana government came after the latter omitted name of Yadava, the senior most IPS officer in the cadre, from the proposal containing the names of nine IPS officers to the UPSC for shortlisting three officers for the job of state police chief. Yadava who remained Haryana DGP from 2019 to 2021 is on central deputation.

Revival of Saraswati river’s old channels can help drain flood waters: CERSR

CERSR director Prof AR Chaudhri said if the ancient channel ways were left as they were, flooding in majority of the houses and damage to crops could have been minimised. He added that the old channels of Saraswati river form a dense network measuring more than 3,000 km in nearly all Haryana districts and could be used as a fast sink for flood waters in future.

The expected “back channeling” by Haryana government is to ensure that three IPS officers serving in the state, Muhammad Akil and RC Mishra (1989 batch) and Shatrujeet Kapur (1990 batch), get empanelled on the basis of seniority, merit and experience. Khaps ask Haryana to amend Hindu Marriage Act to ban intra-gotra marriage

Ramesh Dalal, the president of the Samiti, said that certain marriages such as those within the gotra, within the village and villages sharing geographical boundaries are not permissible in the civil society as per Haryanvi culture and custom.

Haryana: ED arrests judicial officer Sudhir Parmar’s nephew in money laundering case

Ajay Parmar, who along with his uncle and former ED/CBI judge Sudhir Parmar and M3M India director Roop Kumar Bansal is an accused in the April 17 FIR registered by the Haryana anti-corruption bureau at Panchkula, has been named in the June 13 enforcement case information report (ECIR) under Sections 3 and 4 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

Corruption case against judicial officer: ED arrests M3M promoter Basant Bansal, son Pankaj Bansal

ED officials said on the basis of investigation carried and evidences collected so far, both Basant and Pankaj were found guilty of offence of money-laundering as defined under Section 3 of the PMLA and punishable under Section 4 of the PMLA-2002

Both Basant and Pankaj were arrested on June 14 evening at ED’s Gurugram zonal office in Rajokri, New Delhi.
