President nominates three to AU Finance Committee

AU?s Rs 300 crore proposal to UGC

ALLAHABAD UNIVERSITY (AU) administration has drawn up an ambitious plan for an overall revamp and expansion of the 'Oxford of the East'. The AU Vice-Chancellor Prof Rajen Harshe has already left for New Delhi on Tuesday night with the details of the plan seeking a sanction of a whopping Rs 300 crore grant from the University Grants Commission (UGC) that has the potential to transform the varsity and set it on a firm path of recovery.

MNNIT for automated entry, exit

IN THE wake of the recent Sirsi Dam incident in which two students were drowned after leaving the premises on February 18, the Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT) has decided to go for automation of the entry and exit points of the campus. Misuse of lab grant in university alleged

FUNDS BEING received under the annual Laboratory Grant? meant to purchase chemicals, glassware and, in general, maintain the labs for the benefit of students? are being used by many a department of Allahabad University (AU) for tasks, like cutting of hedges and grass as well as getting the roof cleaned, with impunity in gross violation of the grant usage guidelines. If sources are to be believed, some departments like the Zoology Department have not even bothered to either maintain the stock registers for the past over seven years .
