Smart City initiative: ‘Neki Ki Deewar’ to help cut down waste generation in Sangam city

The Prayagraj municipal corporation has launched a project to set up "Reduce, Reuse and Recycle" centres across the city to encourage residents to donate items they no longer need. The centres will be located near temples, parks and other public places. The initiative aims to reduce waste and keep the city cleaner, and items that are not taken by needy people will be recycled. The first of 10 centres planned for the first phase of the initiative has opened near the Hanuman temple in Civil Lines.

Recruitment of teachers/principals in U.P.: 12-member panel to make draft for setting up new commission

The Uttar Pradesh government has set up a 12-member committee to amend the existing Uttar Pradesh Education Services Selection Commission Act-2019, with the aim of creating a single recruitment body for all teaching institutions in the state. The new commission will select teachers and principals for institutions ranging from higher education to basic, technical, and vocational education departments. The move follows instructions from the additional chief secretary (higher education), Sudhir M Bobde.

UP Board modernises computer learning in schools, introduces basics of IoT, cryptos, drone tech

The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad has revised the syllabus for classes 9 to 12, introducing topics such as cryptocurrencies, drone technology, and IT advancements, in line with the National Education Policy 2020. The board experts have also replaced traditional programming languages with Python and Java. Class 10 students will be taught how to avoid hacking and cyber fraud.

Atiq murderers did it to make a name, says FIR

A three-member judicial commission has been set up by Uttar Pradesh to investigate the murder of gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmad and his brother Ashraf. Three assailants, posing as journalists, killed the pair while they were at a hospital in Prayagraj city for routine health examinations. The attackers were later identified and confessed to their crimes. Ahmad had 100 cases against him and was wanted for the murder of a lawyer in February. The deaths come two days after Ahmad's son was killed in an encounter with police, triggering allegations the shootout was staged.

The FIR lodged by the Dhumanganj police has said that the three assailants had been following the Atiq Ahmad and Ashraf along with the crowd of media persons right since they were sent on police remand
