HC directs state Board to release disbarred teen’s Class 12 marksheet

The Bombay high court has ordered the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education to release the marksheet of an engineering aspirant from Nashik. The board had withheld the Class 12 results of Krish Chordiya after stating that he was not eligible to be admitted to the science stream as he did not opt for science in Class 10. The court criticised the board and Gargi Junior College for not informing Chordiya of his ineligibility earlier and said that students should not be penalised for the faults of educational institutions.

HC refuses to quash FIR against professor for putting up “Aug 5 Black Day for J&K” status

Hajam had moved the high court for quashing the FIR registered against him by Hatkanagale police station in Kolhapur district under section 153-A of the Indian Penal Code for allegedly promoting enmity between different groups on the grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, caste or community or any other ground whatsoever or bringing about disharmony or feeling of hatred or ill-will

Bombay HC holds family of accident victim entitled to full compensation

The family members had moved to the high court, seeking full compensation. They claimed that there was no negligence of the deceased and the accident had occurred solely due to the rash and negligent driving of the driver of the offending tempo

The deceased had crashed his car into a tempo plying ahead of his vehicle and sustained serious injuries. He breathed his last at a hospital the next day. (HT)
