Remember the basic rules of stock market

Orderly conduct in the marketplace is premised on complete and correct disclosures. Firms must honestly state objectives of any fund-raising to their shareholders. Any deviation from this norm must be acted upon

If a company can mobilise 75% or more of the shareholding, can it, at any point in time, in the name of ratification, legitimise a wrong step? (PTI)

Regulations should not be onerous

It is tempting to write a new regulation or enact a new law when transgressions happen. However, in the context of improving the ease of doing business, such an approach is counterproductive

The real crisis in PSUs: Leadership

Instead of crippling the public sector and making false comparisons with the private sector, address organisational deficits

Banks and other PSUs are intended to be entities that contribute directly to economic production. To bind them, and then accuse them of not being competitive when compared to private sector entities, is unfair (ABHIJIT BHATLEKAR/MINT)
