Lady Don Karima Shaikh booked for threatening to kill police witness against her
Police in Mumbai have arrested Karima Shaikh, known as the 'Lady Don', and two others for allegedly threatening a witness in a murder case. Shaikh, who has over 98 cases registered against her, was seen chasing the witness through the streets with a knife before police intervened. The witness had previously testified against Shaikh in a case filed by former corporator Parmeshwar Kadam. Shaikh has been charged with murder, extortion and land grabbing, among other offences.

80-year-old widow Rohini Kamble and her son Vishal were kidnapped in Mumbai over a property dispute. The main accused, Pranay Ramteke, a close relative, allegedly wanted a share of the family's five-acre land and bungalow in Pachgaon. Ramteke paid around ?10 lakh to the other accused to kidnap the mother-son duo. Rohini was rescued by the police, but Vishal is suspected to have been killed.
