Noida lift tragedy: After BJP MLA meets Yogi, UP assembly debates ‘Lift Act’

The Uttar Pradesh legislative assembly debated the implementation of the Lift Act after incidents of elevator malfunctions in high-rise societies in the Delhi-NCR region. BJP MLA Dhirendra Singh met with the chief minister to request immediate implementation of the Act for resident safety. The act would hold builders, lift manufacturing companies, service providers, and authorities accountable. Currently, there is no law governing lifts/elevators in Uttar Pradesh.
