Haryana: Beekeepers feel the sting as adulteration leads to price dip

Beekeeping is no more a profitable business as beekeepers in Haryana are facing a tough time due to adulteration of honey with sugar syrup and market dominance by big companies. “The major challenge we face is Chinese sugar adulterants which have caused a great damage to the beekeeping business as those who produce pure honey do not even get the input cost,” said beekeepers of the state.

2 Haryana food supplies inspectors held for bogus paddy procurement

Police said that the two Haryana food supplies inspectors were allegedly involved in the bogus procurement on the fake registrations on the Meri Fasal Mera Byora (MFMB) portal to show the procurement of 5,180 quintal paddy with the help of a local commission agent by creating fake registrations of farmers on the MFMB portal.

Basmati growers rejoice as prices touch 3,800 a quintal

Paddy has already started arriving in the grain markets of Haryana’s northern districts -- Karnal, Kurukshetra, Panipat and Yamunanagar, and farmers are getting anywhere between ₹3,500 to ₹4,000 for a quintal of the early maturing varieties: Pusa 1509, Pusa 1847 and Pusa 1692.

Karnal MC struggling to recover 112 cr in pending property tax from central govt institutions

The National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI), which works under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), is the biggest defaulter, owing ₹72.5 crore to the MC.
