A bench of the district consumer disputes redressal forum has awarded two-year imprisonment to directors of realty firms - Chandigarh Overseas Private Limited, SAS Nagar, and Greenfield Sites Management Private Limited, Chandigarh - for noncompliance of its orders. Mobile dealer, service centre fined for deficient services

The district consumer disputes redressal forum, Chandigarh, on Thursday directed an electronic store and a service centre to refund Rs 13,100 to a complainant for deficient services. Anmol Watches and Electronics Pvt Ltd, an authorised dealer of HTC India in Sector 22, Chandigarh, and TVS Electronics Ltd, an authorised service centre of HTC in Sector 47, Chandigarh, have been directed to pay the money.

Chandigarh bank fined Rs 5 lakh for breaking open locker

For gross negligence on the part of a Chandigarh-based nationalised bank officials, who broke the locker of the complainants without permission, the State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission has directed the bank authorities to pay Rs 5 lakh to the complainants.
