Two new schools to open in Dhanas by March-end

The 16-month long wait by the residents of Colony Number 5, Dhanas, to have two new schools- secondary and senior secondary, is likely to end by the end of this month, March 31. UT administration has set the deadline for the construction for both the school buildings which will have around 45 class rooms each for thousands of children in the area.

Dept to offer extra classes to help students bust exam stress

In order to reduce the stress during board exams, UT education department is gearing up to start extra classes for the students before or after their school. The department has asked the schools to send a list of the teachers who can volunteer to teach the students after school hours and can take classes an hour before the school in order to facilitate the students in their preparations for boards.

The two-year-old provision whereby teachers can avail of leave up to 730 days (two years) during their tenure to attend to their children’s needs has been giving school officials a hard time as they are already facing an acute staff shortage.
