Citing lack of evidence, Faridkot court acquits 51 in 2008 PMET scam

The infamous PMET scam was unearthed in the entrance test held on June 22, 2008, and on July 4, 2008. The Faridkot police had registered an FIR under sections 420, 419, 467, 468, 471 and 34 of the IPC against students, imposters and doctors allegedly involved in the scam.

PG medical courses: After 2 rounds of counselling, 31% MD, MS seats remain vacant in 9 colleges

The Baba Farid University of Health Sciences has announced the schedule for the third round of counselling to fill the vacant PG seats. Of the 573 state-quota seats in five private and four government medical colleges in the state, 179 (31%) have been declared vacant by the BFUHS.

Moose Wala murder case: Second eyewitness identifies shooters in Mansa trial court

Gurwinder Singh, along with another friend Gurpreet Singh, was traveling with singer-turned-politician Moose Wala in his Mahindra Thar vehicle when the latter was shot dead on May 29, 2022. Both Gurwinder and Gurpreet had sustained bullet injuries in the attack.
