The Nirmohi Akhara, a powerful Hindu order, will attend the consecration ceremony of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya on January 22, with PM Modi as the chief guest. This will be the first time that the heads of all nine branches of the Nirmohi Akhara will be present together at an event. Firing in self-defence does not violate Arms Act provisions: Allahabad HC

The Allahabad High Court has ruled that firing in self-defence from a licensed firearm is not a violation of the Arms Act, 1959. The court made this observation while passing an order on a petition. The court stated that the police do not have the right to seize a firearm used in self-defence. The case involved a petitioner who used his licensed firearm in self-defence when attacked by some individuals. The petitioner's firearm was seized by the police, but the high court quashed the lower court's order and ruled in favor of the petitioner.

Trust finalises Ram Lalla’s idol, formal announcement awaited

The idol for the consecration ceremony of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya has been finalized by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirath Kshetra Trust. The selected idol will be enthroned at the Ram temple's sanctum-sanctorum on January 22. Three renowned sculptors have carved out three separate idols, and the Trust is expected to announce its decision soon. The idol carved by Arun Yogiraj of Karnataka is believed to be the favorite. A Shobha Yatra will be taken out before the consecration ceremony to reveal the selected idol to the people of Ayodhya.
