Maha legislative council passes Lokayukta Bill

The Maharashtra State Legislative Council has passed the Lokayukta Bill, extending the jurisdiction of the anti-corruption ombudsman to include the chief minister and council of ministers. The bill had been delayed due to scrutiny and objections from legislators, but was reintroduced with recommendations from a joint committee. The bill received unanimous support and includes provisions from the Anti-Corruption Act. Fadnavis acquitted in case related to non-disclosure of criminal cases
