100 hours later, rescue operation to save 11-yr-old stuck in borewell continues

The boy fell into the unused 80-foot-deep borewell in the backyard of his house in Pihrid village in Malkharoda development block while playing at about 4 pm on Friday.
The district administration started digging a 70-feet pit parallel to the borewell on Friday evening and a 15-feet tunnel is also under construction to connect the pit with the borewell so that the child can be rescued. (SCREENGRAB.)

50 hours in borewell, efforts on to rescue 11-year-old boy in Chhattisgarh

The boy is conscious and responding, officials said. Food and other fluids are supplied to him through pipes at regular intervals. Another pipe has been installed for oxygen supply in the borewell

12 tribal children hospitalised after food poisoning in Chhattisgarh’s Jashpur

PEKB project tree-cutting starts in Chhattisgarh forest, paused after protests

The PKEB project was cleared by the Chhattisgarh government on March 22, 2022. A fortnight later, on April 6, the state government also granted final approval to the adjoining Parsa Coal Block where tree-cutting started on April 26.
