Chandigarh railway station revamp in slow lane, project to take three more months

The completed work includes the construction of beams, columns, and walls, among other structures. The remaining work includes the construction of an air concourse, four state-of-the-art foot overbridges, parking areas on Panchkula side, and a proper roof over the entire railway station

Row over PGIMER’s dean (academics) post: Ministry says its nod ‘not taken’ before giving addl charge to Dr Naresh Panda

Dr Surjit Singh, professor and head of paediatric medicine department, was to take over from professor Rakesh Sehgal, former (dean academic), with effect from April 1, 2023. However, on April 24 this year, Dr Panda was named the officiating dean (academic), ignoring Singh’s claim of seniority.

Health ministry directs Chandigarh PGI director to expedite civic projects

The standing finance committee noted that out of all the central institutes that have been sanctioned the critical care block under PM-Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM) only in PGIMER the work has not started. The ministry has now advised the director to closely monitor the project and ensure timely execution
