Private charted flight veers off runway; seven injured
A private chartered aircraft skidded off the runway at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, injuring seven people. The co-pilot is in critical condition. The runway was closed for 90 minutes, resulting in diverted flights, cancellations, and delays. The flight, hired by J M Baxi and Co., had eight people on board. The cause of the accident is under investigation, but heavy rain and low visibility are suspected factors.

Scrap guideline in redevelopment process, MGP urges CM
Consumer rights group Mumbai Grahak Panchayat has written to the Chief Minister of Mumbai, demanding the removal of a guideline that allegedly promotes corruption in redevelopment projects. The group claims that the presence of an authorised officer from the Co-operative Registrar's office at approval meetings has become a breeding ground for corruption, with bribes being demanded for approval. 50-sq-m houses to be calculated from basic FSI, UD clarifies
The urban development department in Mumbai has clarified that the construction of 50-square-metre tenements should be consumed from basic FSI and not include TDR, premium FSI, and ancillary area FSI. This clarification came in response to a representation made by Credai-MCHI, a leading developers' body. Sumir Chadha, MD of WestBridge Capital, has bought a luxury apartment in Mumbai's Oberoi Three Sixty West project for INR 96.12 crore ($12.9 million). The apartment, located on the 60th floor, has a built-up area of 7,459 sq ft and Chadha paid a stamp duty of INR 3.59 crore on the transaction. The deal includes five car parking spaces and the apartment fetched a rate of INR 1.29 lakh per sq ft on the built-up area, which could be one of the highest rates for luxury properties in Worli.

Mumbai’s tallest SRA project with sea views begins handover
Omkar Realtors has begun delivering the first rehab homes in Mumbai's tallest SRA building, located at Dhobi Ghat in Mahalaxmi. The first phase will see 1,000 families receive their new homes, along with 19 retail units. The towers are situated near the open-air laundry, with many of the residents being traditional dhobi families. The project, a joint venture between Omkar group and Piramal Realty, includes amenities such as welfare centres and balwadis. The views from the new homes include the Mahalaxmi Racecourse and Arabian Sea. The project is being hailed as the world's tallest rehabilitation structure.
