Adani Realty wins bid to redevelop 24-acre plot at Bandra Reclamation

Adani Realty has emerged as the highest bidder for the redevelopment of a 24-acre plot in Mumbai, beating Larsen & Toubro. Adani offered a revenue share of 22.7%, compared to L&T's 18%. The final decision will be made by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) board next week. The land parcel has a potential development area of 45 lakh square feet and is valued at around INR30,000 crore ($4.1bn). Adani won a mandate in November 2022 to redevelop Dharavi, Asia's largest slum cluster, with a bid of INR5,069 crore.

The lack of electricity is due to unpaid accumulated power, water, and property tax bills. The residents are demanding that the developer, Omkar Realtors and Developers, pay their outstanding dues, which amount to INR 95.23 lakh ($132,000). The power supply was temporarily restored after residents sought help from the guardian minister.

Height curbs near defence bases may be imposed again

The Supreme Court has modified a Bombay High Court order, allowing height restrictions on constructions around defence installations to be reinstated. The order comes after the HC had quashed four circulars issued by the defence ministry in this regard. The apex court directed naval authorities to issue a no objection certificate (NOC) to Dolby Builders Private Limited within one month for the redevelopment of a bungalow near an Indian Navy missile battery base. Parties affected by the circulars are still permitted to challenge them independently.

Court orders action against seven for cheating, forging will to transfer Bandra villa

A metropolitan magistrate in Mumbai has taken cognisance of cheating and forgery offences and issued summons to seven accused persons, including a doctor, for allegedly forging a will to transfer a prime property worth ₹600 crore ($81 million). The order came on a private complaint filed by a social activist against the accused. The magistrate held that the disputed will was "not genuine" and there was enough material to infer cheating and forgery. The accused have been booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.
