KTR hits out at PM Modi for his comments on Telangana formation

Telangana industries minister KT Rama Rao has criticized Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his comments on the formation of Telangana. Modi had claimed that the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh to create Telangana had led to bitterness and bloodshed. Mixed response to the statewide shutdown called in Andhra Pradesh by TDP

The shutdown called by TDP in Andhra Pradesh to protest the arrest of party president N Chandrababu Naidu received a mixed response. Government offices, banks, and educational institutions functioned as usual, while private educational institutions declared a holiday in some districts. TDP workers forced the shutdown of shops in some places, but the police intervened and made the shops open. The situation was reported to be peaceful, with no untoward incidents. TDP leaders and workers staged demonstrations and road blockades, resulting in arrests. Jana Sena Party and Left parties supported the shutdown.
