Bibliophiles make a beeline for Load the Box book fair in Chandigarh

Load the Box book fair is back in Chandigarh until April 16. Readers can buy a box and fit as many books they can in it, with over 10 lakh new and pre-owned books available, including genres such as fantasy, romance, crime, non-fiction, self-help, young adult and children's. Rahul Pandey, co-founder of Delhi-based start-up Kitab Lovers, says physical books remain popular despite digital options, adding the event aims to encourage reading habits and make quality books accessible. The fair features local authors and affordable prices, according to Pandey.

It’s London calling for these tricity artists!

Chandigarh Lalit Kala Akademi (CLKA) has announced its scholarship winners for 2022-23, offering young artists from the tricity region the chance to visit museums and art galleries in London. The six selected artists will explore works by leading international artists, attend workshops and seminars and interact with fellow artists in a bid to encourage exploration, experimentation and keeping up with the times. The scholarship is open to artists aged between 20 and 30 working in graphics, printmaking, multimedia, photography, sculpture, and installation.

Chandigarh to host unique fusion concert as part of Francophonie 2023

Canadian-French musician Nadaka will perform at the Geet-Taar & Taal fusion music concert in Chandigarh on April 8, as part of the Francophonie 2023 celebrations. Nadaka will play his self-crafted 24-string acoustic guitar alongside Indian musicians Ilyas Khan on sarangi and Chandrashekar Gandhi on tabla, in an event featuring high-tech electronics integrated into the musical instrument.
