NCRB report 2021: Be wary on Ludhiana roads between 6pm & 12 am

As per NCRB’s data, 134 accidents were reported between 6 pm and 9 pm and 83 between 9 pm and 12 am. The minimum of 17 mishaps were reported between 12 am and 3 am. According to Ludhiana police officials, many people return home from work between 6 pm and 12 am, which leads to rush on roads.

Grains transportation scam: Vigilance summons Bharat Bhushan Ashu loyalist councillor to join probe

The vigilance bureau team also visited the house of Bhalla, but he was not present at home. On Friday, dismissed deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Balwinder Singh Sekhon along with his supporters filed a complaint against Ashu to the VB officials. Sekhon had an old rivalry with Ashu following which Bharat Bhushan Ashu had allegedly dismissed him from the job.

Ludhiana | 85% of police complaints by women received through helpline numbers

As per the data, a total of 3,184 complaints were lodged by women in Ludhiana between January 1 and June 30. Of these, women walked into police stations to make their complaint only in 15% of the cases while 85% were filed online.

Moose Wala murder: Former SAD minister Nirmal Singh Kahlon’s nephew lands in police net

Former Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) minister Nirmal Singh Kahlon’s nephew, Sandeep Singh alias Sona, 52, was booked on the basis of revelations of Satbir Singh, an Amritsar resident, who had allegedly supplied weapons to the shooters involved in Moose Wala’s killing.
