Anganwadi worker's daughter tops MP high school exam

But, such detractions were too small against her willpower and she stood first in the merit list.
Meet Poonam Ghore, daughter of Ganesh Ghore who is not able to work due to illness, and mother Pramila, the bread-winner of the family who works as Anganwadi assistant.
Yes, there is another angelic figure in her life. District superintendent of police, Lalit Shakyawar, bears all her expenses on education and elsewhere.
Student of Excellence School, Betul, Poonam, fascinated by the former Betul collector Sudha Chowdhary, wants to be an IAS officer in future.
Her father, Ganesh Ghore, faced kidney failure few years ago due to which he is unable to earn money. Viewing the condition of Ganesh, her mother Pramila Ghore started working as domestic help.
Luckily, she got a job in Anganwadi centre, where she receives Rs 4,000 monthly. But it was not enough for the sustenance of her family.
Ganesh's eyes were filled with tears when he heard that his daughter has not only topped in the district but has scored highest marks in the entire state.
"My earning was so less that I was unable to provide proper food to my both children but still my daughter worked hard and scored highest marks in the state", said Pramila.
Viewing obstacles coming in the way of Poonam's studies, her parents decided to send her in government girl's hostel.
Her determination amazed several people around her and one of them was superintendent of police (SP), Betul, Lalit Shakyawar.
The saying "God helps those who help themselves" proved correct for Poonam. At the time when her family was struggling financially leading to obstacles in her education, Shakyawar came as a miracle into the life of Poonam.
"Poonam was fond of painting since her childhood and used to make several paintings at home. Once there was a painting competition in her school and the judge was the SP. He was impressed with the painting done by Poonam and decided to adopt her. Since then, he bears all expenses of Poonam," said her father.
Expressing his happiness, Shakyawar said every daughter should be like Poonam and blessed her for successful future.
