Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty replies to Twitter trolls after she said in an interview that Animal Farm is a book that teaches to love and care for animals.

Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty finally responded to those trolling her on Twitter for her ‘review’ of George Orwell’s famous novel, Animal Farm.

According to Shetty, there was a ‘misunderstanding’ and that while she admires the writers of popular culture novels such as the Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter and Animal Farm - she has ‘never’ read these books - as they are ‘not my kind.’

She then later posted a photo on her Instagram, saying she does not want to offer any explanations. “My mom always says that when you are a celebrity, never complain and never explain, ” wrote the actress.

It all started when a national daily asked the actress’ opinion on CISCE’s decision to include popular culture books in the English Literature syllabus for junior and middle school. She reportedly said, “... even Animal Farm should be included as it will teach the little ones to love and care for animals.”

Before she knew it, Twitter erupted with trolls targeting her for an obvious mistake -- Orwell’s Animal Farm is an allegory for the a surveillance state in the Soviet Union. The book is often hailed as one of the most dystopic social satires to be written.

Twitterati had a blast, as they started trending the hashtag #ShilpaShettyReviews and tweeting out obvious -- and very wrong -- interpretations of book titles.
