‘I said yes for Ranbir’

Deepika, 27, who visited the HT City office, Delhi, on Monday along with co-stars Ranbir Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapoor, and Kalki Koechlin shares, “When I agreed to do the film I had not read the script, but I had faith in Ayan and working with Ranbir was the other reason why I said ‘yes’ to the film.” The duo who have been paired earlier (Bachna Ae Haseeno, 2008), say that they have put up a better show this time around.

“I think we have matured as actors and have better on-screen chemistry now,” says Deepika.

The film revolves around the friendship of the four central characters, who by Ranbir’s confession, are wild. “But I don’t relate to my character at all. I am not adventurous and I don’t like to travel,” confesses the 30-year-old actor.

However, the high-point, agree all four, has been the off-screen camaraderie that they shared through the shoot.

“Aditya did a lot of bad things to me during the first few days and then I bullied him back...we’ve done all kinds of things, like tripping each other over,” shares Ranbir, adding, “And hopefully you’ll see that fun in the film too.”
