Kirron stormed Cong bastions also in her win

Though minute details of elections are yet to come, be it villages, colonies or urban sectors, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Kirron Kher maintained her upper hand throughout the City Beautiful.

Even in Dhanas where Prime Minister Manmohan Singh handed over the possession of around 8,500 flats to the beneficiaries under the slum rehabilitation scheme, the Congress got lead on six polling booths only, while Kirron maintained her upper hand on 17 booths. She managed a lead of 8,707 votes over Bansal from Dhanas.

Pawan Bansal’s highest margin was in Industrial Area, Phase 2, where he managed a lead of 5,744 votes over other candidates. Bansal also did well in Maloya maintaining a lead of 5,370 over others and Kajheri village with 2,760 votes. BJP wrested traditional Congress bastions of Manimajra, Hallo Majra and villages such as Kishangarh and Khudda Jassu.

For winning candidate who was voted more than every third vote in these elections, her highest margin was in Manimajra with 17,042 votes over others. Kirron successfully maintained her upper hand in all the city sectors except Sector 25 and 61, where she stood at number one and at Sector 53 Pawan Kumar Bansal stood at number one. AAP candidate Gul Panag’s highest margin was in Dadu Majra where she secured 4,000 votes over others.

On some booths, Kirron even slipped down to third position. Panag also did well in Sector 25 and got a lead of 3,669 votes and Khudda Ali Sher among villages.


The figures show that the AAP maintained its lead in 34 polling booths, the Congress on 68, while the BJP on 417 booths of the total 519 booths.
