Visitors say there is just a single window to attend them, due to which people have to keep waiting for their turn for long hours.

“Hundreds of people can be seen standing here in the queue to get high-security number plates for the vehicles. It’s a frustrating experience as there is only one window to attend visitors. Considering severe cold, and for the convenience for people, the RLA authorities should have arranged more windows,”said Sudhanshu Mewati, a resident Sector 15.

Surprisingly, not even a single shed has been installed to facilitate visitors, he said.

“It is sheer harassment. If they can’t provide more windows, at least they should install sheds, including chairs, in the standing area so that visitors do not fall sick,”said Rohit Sharma, a city resident.

Angry visitors also stated though cops issued challans for not having high-security numbers, they were not aware of the ground reality and didn’t understand that it was like a punishment to stand in the biting cold to get these number plates.

“During my first visit, I waited for around four hours but could not get the number plate. Surprisingly, I had to return without the same on my second visit,”said Ravi Bansal, a city resident.

Apart from that, the traffic chaos can also be seen outside the RLA office as large numbers of cars were parked in a haphazard manner.

RLA Kashish Mittal claimed, “I will personally look into the matter. We have always worked for people’s convenience and if there is any such kind of situation occurring at the office, things will soon be streamlined for sure.”
