In order to facilitate government school students and reduce exam stress, the UT education department is all set to start a helpline

According to the education department officials, the helpline will be functional from February 10 till March 31.

It is important to mention here that the education department starts a new helpline each year near the board exams.

According to an order released by the education department on Wednesday, the helpline will include names and phone numbers and subjects of 14 teachers.

These names include Sarabjit Kaur (Punjabi), Devinder Singh(maths), Sangeeta Chhabra (english), Neenu Rajwanshi (chemistry), Seema Chaudhary (political science), Renu (Hindi), Mini Bhasin (commerce), ED Khan (english), Jasjit Kaur (science 9, 10), Yogita Khanna (english 9, 10), Dheerja (social studies 9, 10), Kuldeep Singh (physics), Sonia (economics), Jaspal Kaur (geography).

“As there is not much time left for the board examination, students tend to take lot of stress, which is not good for their health. In order to look after them, we have started a helpline. Thus, they can be in touch with subject experts whenever they would have any query,” stated director public instructions (schools) Kamlesh Kumar.

The order read, “Any student can contact the above mentioned teachers between 2.00pm to 7.30pm for the said period.”

District education officer Ram Kumar has asked the government schools to display the information regarding the helpline in the respective school premises.

Devinder Singh, one of the members of the helpline and maths lecturer in Government Model Senior Secondary School, stated it would be of great help for the students.

“Students get really puzzle during the exam times, especially, while solving the sample papers. It puts them under a lot of stress. With the help of this new helpline, we will be available for them during their preparation time and will try our best to provide best of our services to them,” said Singh.
