Ludhiana Congress to take out march on April 3 against Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification

Intensifying the march against the disqualification of party leader Rahul Gandhi from Lok Sabha, the district Congress unit on Friday announced to carry out a march on April 3.Several Congress MPs will participate in the march starting from Clock tower to Division number 3 in Ludhiana .

With this, the party will also hold press conferences at the constituency level on April 1 and 2. Addressing the media at a private hotel, Congress MLA from Kapurthala Rana Gurjeet Singh said similar programmes to reach out to the public have been launched all over the state. He said that congress leader Rahul Gandhi has been wrongly targeted by the Bharatiya Janata Party because of a spike in his popularity after the Bharat Jodo Yatra.

He added that the decision of disqualifying Rahul had been taken due to the government’s pressure and constitutional norms have been disregarded. He said the congress workers will reach out to the common people about the treatment meted out to Rahul Gandhi and make it a nationwide movement.

He added that senior congress leaders have been deputed in each district of Punjab to lead the congress activities. Former MLAs Rakesh Pandey, Surinder Dawer and Sanjay Talwar and other office bearers of the congress were also present on the occasion.

During a meeting of congress leaders on Thursday, Punjab Congress president Raja Warring had expressed his dissatisfaction with the congress office bearers in the region over low turnout at the recent protests against Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification.
