Hold interaction with public daily for 2 hours: Haryana CM Khattar to DCs, SPs
“The field officers, including DCs and the SPs, should hold daily interaction with the common man for at least 2 hours. Every day 11 am to 1 pm should be fixed for public interaction. During this period, no video conferencing would be held with these officers (DCs and SPs),” Haryana CM Khattar said.
Asking officials of the district administration to bridge communication gap with the general public, Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Friday directed deputy commissioners (DCs) and superintendents of police (SPs) to keep aside two hours every day for interaction with public.
“The field officers, including DCs and the SPs, should hold daily interaction with the common man for at least 2 hours. Every day 11 am to 1 pm should be fixed for public interaction. During this period, no video conferencing would be held with these officers (DCs and SPs),” said the chief minister while reviewing the progress of various flagship schemes and projects.
Present in the meetings were chief secretary, Sanjeev Kaushal; additional chief secretaries; divisional commissioners and deputy commissioners.
The chief minister directed the officers posted in the districts to focus on maximum interaction with the general public to “bridge the communication gap.” He also directed that regular interaction should also be done with the elected representatives and workers as they too are working for the welfare of society.
The chief minister also directed the offices to ensure compliance with state government orders regarding “no meeting day” on every Tuesday in letter and spirit.
“The officers have a key role to play in the implementation of welfare scheme formulated by the government. The officers too are duty-bound to ensure that the benefits of the state government’s welfare-oriented schemes reach the grass-roots level,” said Khattar, directing the officers concerned to complete the work regarding conducting special girdawari by April 15.
“The intention of the government while formulating any welfare scheme is to ensure timely and swift delivery of the benefits among the actual and targeted beneficiaries. Mere drafting schemes on paper and not ensuring their delivery at the grass-roots level has no meaning,” said Khattar
Underlining the importance of swachhata abhiyan, the chief minister directed that the officers concerned that cleanliness should be ensured in every village.
