Panchkula police arrest 39 drug peddlers in last two months
Within the last two months, 39 drug peddlers have been arrested by the Panchkula police as a part of the drive against drugs. A separate unit has been constituted to arrest those dealing in drugs
Within the last two months, 39 drug peddlers have been arrested by the Panchkula police as a part of the drive against drugs.
As per the information shared by the police, a drive against drugs was started on the instructions of DCP Surender Pal Singh. A separate unit has been constituted to arrest those dealing in drugs.
In May, 16 cases were registered and 23 persons were arrested and in June, 13 NDPS cases were registered and 16 persons were arrested.
From these 39 persons, police have recovered 13.78-kg opium, 12.97-kg charas, 7.97-kg churapost, 652-gram charas and 135.41 gram heroin.
To break the chain of drug peddlers’ nexus, a special team has been constituted. This team has already arrested one African national.
This year, 68 cases have been registered under the NDPS Act and 99 persons have been arrested.
