This Sunday, take a rescue dog out for a walk in Delhi

India Unites For Animal Rights (IUFAR) is organising an event called "Dog's Day Out" this Sunday on National Animal Rights Day, inviting people to animal shelters across Delhi-NCR to take dogs there out for a walk. The hope is to encourage people to adopt the dogs, and the group has tied up with 20 different animal shelters across the National Capital Region (NCR), with more to be added over the weekend, according to the group.

Delhi double murder: Residents did not notice anything unusual

A mother and daughter were found dead in their flat in east Delhi after not leaving it for six days. They were discovered after neighbours detected a strong smell. The mother's two older daughters, who live in Delhi and the National Capital Region, are being questioned by police. Neighbours said the women were known for being "aloof" and rarely spoke to others in the building.

PWD demolishes illegal slums near Pragati Maidan

The Delhi government has started a demolition drive to remove approximately 50 illegal structures in a slum cluster near Pragati Maidan. The action led to traffic chaos in the central and east parts of the city during the morning rush hour. The move follows a Delhi high court hearing on 2 May, during which the court refused to stay the demolition drive against the illegal JJ cluster and gave residents until 31 May to vacate the area.
