Delhi: Man nabbed for ferrying illicit liquor painted truck with milk brand logo

Deputy commissioner of police (southwest) Manoj C identified the arrested man as 45-year-old Nishan Singh, the driver of the truck and a resident of Punjab’s Tarn Taran Sahib. He was accompanied by his 21-year-old helper Vikash alias Chapta, a resident of Bahadurgarh in Haryana, who is yet to be arrested.

Police said that the truck’s number plate was fake; they discovered its actual number after checking the engine number.

Delhi Police reunited 132 missing children, 18 adults with families this year

1984 anti-Sikh riots: Life convict seeks suspension of sentence for liver, kidney transplant

A life convict in a case related to the 1984 anti-Sikh riots has sought the suspension of his sentence for transplant liver and kidney transplants. The appellant was convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment by the trial court in 2018. Another convict was awarded the death sentence.

The division bench of Justices Mukta Gupta and Anish Dayal directed the jail authorities to file a report of the appellant Naresh alias Naresh Sehrawat on the next date of hearing on October 11, 2022. Ageing drainage plan blunts Delhi rain response again

Delhi can be divided into three large drainage basins -- Najafgarh, Trans-Yamuna and Barapullah. The consultant for the revamp of the Najafgarh basin is likely to be appointed by October, while the process to hire the consultants for the other two basins will be initiated later, a Public Works Department official aware of the matter said.
