Delhi records 1,040 new Covid cases in last 24 hours, positivity rate at 21.16%
Delhi on Wednesday recorded its highest number of fatalities this year with seven deaths.
The number of daily Covid-19 infections in Delhi has decreased marginally on Wednesday, with 1,040 new cases reported in the last 24 hours, compared to 1,095 the previous day. According to the latest bulletin from the health department, the positivity rate was also lower than Tuesday, standing at 21.6%.

The national capital, Delhi, continues to grapple with covid cases and deaths as the latest health bulletin revealed that the city recorded its highest number of fatalities this year with seven deaths, bringing the death toll to 26,613.
With the new cases, the total number of infections reached 20,36,196. The active caseload in Delhi is currently at 4,708, a decrease from the previous day's total of 4,995.

The number of new cases reported on Monday was 689, which increased the following day to a tally with a difference of more than 400 cases being added to the daily infection total. On Sunday, there were 948 new cases, compared to 1,515 on Saturday.
The latest health bulletin also said that the bed occupancy rate at dedicated Covid-19 hospitals in Delhi stood at 3.82%, with 305 out of 7,977 beds occupied. Totally, 1,320 COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals in the past 24 hours.
The fresh cases emerged from 4,915 tests, including 3,741 RT-PCR/CBNAAT/True Nat tests, conducted on the previous day, highlighting the need for continued vigilance and strict adherence to safety protocols.
