Law tweak to save Delhi Metro assets from seizure

MEA official robbed in rush hour in Delhi

The incident occurred on Monday evening, when the victim, a deputy secretary with the ministry, was driving to his Greater Kailash home when he spotted a man lying on the side of road and stopped to help him.

Police are still probing whether the unconscious man the MEA official helped was part of a distraction leading up to the theft.

Sharjeel, Safoora to face charges in Jamia clash case

The court said that prima facie, as seen in the video evidence, the accused were part of the first line of the mob and were raising slogans against the Delhi Police, adding that they consciously chose to be a part of the unlawful assembly.

A three-judge bench, led by then CJI Uday U Lalit, had on November 7, 2022, acquitted the three men after noting that the prosecution failed in proving their guilt through “cogent and clinching evidence”.
