Aravalli Rejuvenation Board formed to curb illegal mining in Aravallis

A seven-member team called the "Aravalli Rejuvenation Board" has been formed in Gurugram to curb illegal mining in the protected Aravallis region. The team will strengthen infrastructure, install CCTV cameras, deploy drones, and build jogging and cycling tracks to deter illegal miners. The team will also focus on preserving the flora and fauna of the region and ensure proper coordination between different departments and agencies. Additionally, a dedicated police station has been established to take action on cases related to illegal mining and other illegal activities.

WTE plant project at Bandhwari to be delayed, to be ready by Dec 2024

The construction of a waste-to-energy plant in Gurugram has been delayed due to a dispute between Ecogreen Energy and the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram over land allocation. The plant, which was supposed to be operational by February 2024, is now expected to be ready by December next year. Both parties have been blaming each other for the delay, with Ecogreen claiming that the MCG has not cleared the land, while the MCG accuses Ecogreen of not starting the project. The WTE plant is part of the government's plan for municipal solid waste management and will have a daily capacity to produce 25MW of energy.

Three more suspects held in Sohna farmhouse murder case
