'Deepest condolences': PM Modi after 8 died in Rajasthan’s Barmer road accident
At least eight people of a family were killed, and one was injured after their vehicle collided head-on with a truck.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday expressed his condolences to the relatives of those died in a road accident in Rajasthan’s Barmer. “The road accident in Barmer, Rajasthan, is very sad. I express my deepest condolences to the families of those who have lost their lives in this. May God give them strength in this hour of grief," the PMO tweeted.
At least eight people of a family were killed, and one was injured after their vehicle collided head-on with a truck. The nine people travelling in an SUV were part of a marriage procession. A marriage procession from Sediya village in Jalore district was on its way to Kandhi Ki Dhani in GudaMalani.
Reportedly, when they were just eight kilometres away from their destination, their speeding vehicle collided with a truck at midnight on Monday near Aalpura village.
The deceased have been identified as Punma Ram (45), Prakash Bishnoi (28), Manish Bishnoi (12), Prince Bishnoi (5), Bhagirath Ram (38) and Punma Ram (48). All of them were residents of Jalore. Mangilal Bishnoi (38) and Budharam Bishnoi (40) died during treatment at the local hospital.
Union jal shakti minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat also expressed his condolences over the death and said, “The news of the death of so many people in a horrific road accident in Barmer, Rajasthan is heartbreaking. I wish peace to all the departed souls and speedy recovery of the injured. May the bereaved families get strength.”
