The family members and relatives of a man, who suffered a heart attack, were rushing him to the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital at Siliguri in the ambulance when the accident took place
At least three persons were killed, and three others suffered injuries after an ambulance they were in, collided with a truck near Siliguri in north Bengal on Sunday night, police said.
“There was dense fog in the area. The driver couldn’t see the truck loaded with bricks and there was a head-on collision at Jatiakali near Siliguri,” said a police officer.

While three, including the driver, were killed on the spot, the injured victims were rushed to a nursing home for treatment.
The dead were identified as ambulance driver Prashant Roy, 50, Bapan Ghosh, 35, and Rita Sah. All were residents of Mainaguri in Bengal, whereas the injured were identified as Mukti Sah, Gopal Kar (the patient) and Mridul Sah.
