Addressing a meeting of the party’s scheduled caste and scheduled tribe (SC/ST) wing, at Sitapur, state BJP general secretary (organisation) Dharampal Singh called upon the party cadres to ensure that at the November 2 meeting, Dalit cadres from each booth in the Awadh region are represented.

“The double engine BJP government has done a lot for all society, and it is important that we talk about all that has been done for them,” Singh said.

Dharamal Singh has been responsible for finalising party’s Dalit and women meets to popularise party’s programmes for the two sections of the society. “The Congress used the scheduled caste and tribes for vote and merely paid lip service to them but it was under double engine BJP government that real benefits started flowing their way,” he said.

As for the ongoing women meets, where the BJP is talking how measures like women reservation bill, stuck up for decades, have been passed under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, Dharampal said, various women centric schemes have been introduced by the BJP governments.

“In fact, women are at the centre of all decisions taken by the government,” he said.
