Now, drone cameras keeping eye on illicit liquor in UP

Firing in self-defence does not violate Arms Act provisions: Allahabad HC

The Allahabad High Court has ruled that firing in self-defence from a licensed firearm is not a violation of the Arms Act, 1959. The court made this observation while passing an order on a petition. The court stated that the police do not have the right to seize a firearm used in self-defence. The case involved a petitioner who used his licensed firearm in self-defence when attacked by some individuals. The petitioner's firearm was seized by the police, but the high court quashed the lower court's order and ruled in favor of the petitioner.

U.P. set to get bevy of robots to fight blazes

The state fire department in Uttar Pradesh, India, is set to introduce remote-controlled robots for firefighting exercises. These robots will be used for fire emergencies in places that are not easily accessible to humans, such as chemical factories. The robots will be equipped with sensors, cameras, and a water spray system, and will be operated remotely by trained firefighters. In addition, the fire department in Lucknow will soon receive multi-articulated water towers that can move like a snake through narrow lanes and reach a height of 24 meters. These devices can also be controlled remotely for firefighting purposes.

Ayodhya airport to handle over 100 flights on Jan 22

On Sunday, director of Ayodhya’s Maharishi Valmiki International Airport Vinod Kumar met head of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra general secretary Champat Rai to discuss the list of VVIPs expected to arrive in their private chartered aircraft. The VVIPs would be received by officials of UP government and be provided refreshments at the airport.
