Mumbai: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Friday will roll out iNCOVACC, an intranasal vaccine to be administered as a booster dose for senior citizens. Those above the age group of 60 are eligible to receive a dose of the vaccine at least six months after they have received their second dose of either Covishield or Covaxin.

iNCOVACC is the world’s first intranasal Covid vaccine. The dose is also cost-effective as it eliminates the use of syringes, needles, alcohol wipes, professional spray etc.
On Thursday, 754 new cases were reported with 3 deaths in Maharashtra. One death in Mumbai, Pune and Nagpur each. In Mumbai, the daily cases decreased to 135 on Thursday compared to Wednesday (185 cases). According to the BMC, 124 of them have mild symptoms and are taking treatment at home. The active cases in the state are 4,874, of which 1,114 are from Mumbai.
