Kishore Mankar, who is the teacher, told news agency ANI that the zila parishad school has had only one student for the last two years.

Importance of education is not a novelty, and in a matter that proves this point, a man in Maharashtra reportedly covers a distance of more than 10km every day to teach in a school. However, the catch in this story is that his student is only one.

Kishore Mankar, who is the teacher, told news agency ANI that the zila parishad school has had only one student for the last two years.

Situated in Maharashtra's Ganeshpur village of Washim district, Mankar further stated that the population of the region is only 150.

“There is only one student enrolled in the school for the last 2 years. I'm the only teacher in school,” Mankar was quoted as saying by ANI.

The school is permitted to only run classes 1-4, and the boy is the only student in the age-group fit for these grades, India Today reported.

Mankar told ANI that he teaches the child all subjects. “All the facilities given by the government, including mid-day meal, are being provided to the student,” he added.
