Adityanath laid the foundation stone for 346 works, amounting to 368.28 crore, and inaugurated 409 different works, costing about 509.56 crore.

The event saw an estimated gathering of about 10,000 people, including industrialists, entrepreneurs, youth, women groups, doctors, and engineers, among others. Adityanath said such groups are “opinion makers” and will help the government in creating and passing on the works and amicable environment created by the state government in UP.

“There were times before 2017 when the state had a spate of crime, organised crimes, rioting and other such activities which instilled fear in minds of residents. On the other hand, when we came to power, we worked on our policy of ”zero tolerance” to crime and corruption. This has now set a stage for people to invest in the state,” Adityanath said.

The state is scheduled to go to local body polls by the end of the year. The CM also lauded the efforts of the Ghaziabad municipal corporation and told the gathering that the city ended up with a national rank of 12 in the category of cities having a population between one and four million in the Swachh Survekshan 2022 and also secured the top position in the state for cleanliness.

“People of Ghaziabad helped us win all the assembly seats in the previous assembly elections. Before 2017, the city was among the dirtiest and no investments came here. The city now has an expressway and the country’s first rapid train will also commence here. We have brought back the environment of safety and security,” Adityanath added.

Ahead of the local body polls, the CM also promised a convention centre for people of Purvanchal and Uttarakhand who have a large voter base in Ghaziabad.

He also laid the foundation stone for the Purvanchal Bhawan and Uttranchal Bhawan besides a green crematorium in Indirapuram. He also dedicated the new bridge on river Hindon at GT Road which connects the city with Mohan Nagar.
