ULFA (I) executes leaders for allegedly spying, conspiring against organisation

The banned organization ULFA-I has claimed responsibility for executing two of its senior leaders for allegedly conspiring against the group. The leaders were found guilty of violating norms and were given the death sentence. The Assam police have asked for the location of the bodies. ULFA-I alleges that the leaders cooperated with Indian intelligence forces and revealed sensitive information. ULFA-I is a faction of the United Liberation Front of Asom, which was formed in 1979 with a demand for a sovereign Assam.

A report from the State Food Testing Laboratory in Meghalaya's capital Shillong has revealed that residents in 44 major localities are consuming hazardous water. The water samples from these localities showed the presence of harmful organisms and high levels of iron, indicating that the water is unsafe to drink. Malegaon blast: NIA court starts recording statements of BJP MP Pragya Thakur, six others

On Tuesday, the accused were asked questions related to people who died in the blast and also about the nature of injuries sustained by the survivors based on the testimonies of the doctors who treated the injured persons and who conducted autopsies on the victims. Around 60 questions were put to the accused, to which they mostly replied saying they “do not know” why the witnesses had said whatever they said in their testimonies before the court
