Body found in flat: Woman was strangled to death, reveals autopsy
The decomposed state of the body suggested that the woman was murdered over a week back, the postmortem report said.
The woman whose body was found inside a flat in a building in Rambagh area here late Thursday evening was strangled to death, revealed postmortem examination report on Friday. The doctors have also preserved the vaginal swab to be sent to FSL for detailed examination.

The woman’s mother also turned up at the mortuary and identified the body. The woman Sangeeta aka Bitola (35) was a resident of Neewa area of Dhumanganj. Her mother claimed that Sangeeta was separated from her husband and was living in a flat in Rambagh for past few years.
SP city Santosh Kumar Meena said further investigations were on into the incident.
The police had reached the flat after foul smell started emanating out of it. The police broke open the door and the grill and found a woman’s body without clothes in a decomposing state.
The police also found a mobile phone, some visiting cards, purse, etc from the flat whose owner is a doctor at a private hospital.
The doctor claimed that the woman was living at the flat as a caretaker and was introduced to him by a friend. However, the doctor claimed that he was unaware of the woman’s native place or her family members.
